Virus: a bacteriophage that moves
A bacteriophage drawn in the summer before junior high, 98 by 105 pixels: a red head, a coiled tail, thin legs. The file is simply called “virus”. His favourite television back then was Discovery programmes on genes and genetic engineering.

Tool panels for the class site: Yahoo Mail, the Yam blog, the Slime games corner
Two small panels made in the summer after graduation. One, titled “tools”, has three buttons to Yahoo Mail, the Yam blog and the Slime games corner; the other, “web shortcuts”, puts Yahoo, Sony, Baidu, MSN, Slime and Google around a round main button. Both still click; most of the sites they point to are gone.

The class 6-6 website: parts of a class site made before graduation
The banner's line reads “606 will become part of everyone's heart… and a memory to miss…”. The site itself was never captured by the Internet Archive; the drives kept its Flash parts — navigation buttons, a tools panel, a rabbit, arrows, a bacteriophage — and a banner made for the school's gifted resource class. His 2011 account lists one excellence, one special excellence and one honourable mention in the Taipei class website competition from his primary school years. Classmates' photos in the banners are blurred.

Save energy, cut waste: honourable mention in the education bureau's environmental animation competition
The title card reads “Taipei Sanxing Elementary School, Che-Yu Wu”; 1,950 frames, two minutes forty, opening with “global warming is getting worse”. His 2011 account says that in sixth grade he entered the education bureau's environmental animation competition “and only got an honourable mention”, then worked harder, and in eighth grade won his first Acer Digital Creation Award. The Flash file still plays in full.

The music in a glass: a sixth-grade research project
The researcher line reads “60610 Che-Yu Wu”. It began when his father watched him make a simple instrument out of a pen and a ruler and asked him to play a song. He lined up twelve goblets, measured how much water made Do, Re and Mi, then tried soy sauce, oil, vinegar, milk, soy milk, green tea and cola, and finally jelly wax and ice. The report, a photo from it and two experiment videos are on the archive page.

Flash sketches from class 5-6: the earliest animations on the drives
In fourth grade he borrowed a copy of Flash from school and drew with it for an hour or two every evening. The earliest Flash files on his drives are these five: a skeleton, a flower, a bubble bath, a watermelon turning red and a watermelon report, all short, some a single frame. The skeleton's speech bubble says “welcome to class 5-6”, so they date from fifth grade. All five still play.
