Che-Yu Wu (b. 1995, Taiwan) is a multidisciplinary new media artist, designer, engineer, and music creator. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and an M.S. in Integrated Digital Media from New York University (NYU), specializing in computational art and interactive technologies.
Situated at the intersection of engineering and art, Wu's creative practice explores the liminal space between algorithms and emotions. By leveraging cutting-edge generative systems, physics simulations, and interactive technologies, he forges a distinctive digital language that imbues his artworks with vitality — building bridges between the virtual and the real.
His work has been exhibited internationally at the Venice Biennale (2024), Art Basel Miami Beach (2023), CENTQUATRE-PARIS (2024 residency), Ars Electronica (2022), Unit London (2023), and Taipei 101's AMBI SPACE ONE. He is the founder of Monoame Design and MonoLab, and co-founder of FAB DAO — Taiwan's largest charity NFT initiative.
As an educator, Wu has served as Assistant Professor of Practice at NYCU, teaching Generative Interactive Art and System Design. His online courses on Hahow have reached 22,648+ students across 3 courses (all rated 5.0★), and he founded CreativeCoding.in, Taiwan's leading creative coding tutorial platform.
