Overview
A fish moving through a digital sea invites viewers to project feeling and a sense of life onto an algorithmic form.
Work and viewing
MonoLab’s installation text describes a being waiting to be discovered. Follow the slow movement and shifts of light, then compare this presentation with the swimming controls of the fxhash collection.
Original work record
Original work statement from MonoLab
In the depths of the digital sea, you met your light.
Do you believe a soul can swim?
One night, you’re quietly staring at the screen
when suddenly — a fish emerges from the depths.
It says nothing,
but somehow, it nods to you.
This is Soul Fish —
a school of beings born from stardust,
drifting slowly through the digital cosmos,
as if waiting to be found.
And maybe,
that someone is you.
